## Before You Start Any Industry Setup -- Set Your Company Foundation

Before configuring any industry-specific modules, navigate to **Company Foundation** in the sidebar (under Strategy & Governance) and complete two things:

1. **Company Constitution**: Your company identity (one sentence), values, non-negotiables, vision, and any additional context (decision principles, board mandate, risk tolerance). This is injected at the top of every Executive Board deliberation.
2. **Active Mission**: Your highest-priority goal right now -- headline, metric, target value, deadline, key results, and constraints.

Without Company Foundation, the AI Board reasons generically. With it, every recommendation is grounded in who your company is and what it is trying to achieve.

> **Quick setup**: In the installer wizard, Step 9 prompts you to fill this in. If you skipped it, go to Company Foundation now -- it takes about 5 minutes and immediately improves board deliberation quality.

## ErezAgent for SaaS Founders

**Core value**: Revenue intelligence, customer health scoring, and churn prevention running automatically while you build.

### Setup for SaaS
0. Complete **Company Foundation** (sidebar > Strategy & Governance > Company Foundation) -- set constitution + mission before anything else
1. Connect **Stripe** -> `Platform -> Connectors -> Stripe`
2. Connect **GitHub** -> for engineering velocity metrics
3. Create a revenue goal in **Outcome Engine** with your MRR target
4. Enable **Customer Success** department -- set churn risk thresholds

### What runs automatically
- **Hourly**: a revenue-drop trigger (week-over-week, with a threshold you set in Executive Governance) can convene the Executive Board
- **Weekly**: Customer health scores recomputed from usage signals
- **On churn signal**: Attention Feed surfaces accounts with declining health + AI-drafted re-engagement email queued for your approval
- **Monthly**: Finance reconciliation -> P&L snapshot in Finance Dept

### Key agents for SaaS
| Agent | Role |
|---|---|
| Revenue Intelligence Agent | Pipeline analysis, deal scoring |
| Customer Success Agent | Health scoring, renewal flagging |
| Growth Agent | Conversion funnel analysis, SEO monitoring |
| Finance Agent | MRR tracking, cohort attribution |
| Engineering Agent | Deployment frequency, incident detection |

### ROI example
SaaS founder with 200 customers: ErezAgent detects 12 accounts with declining usage patterns, drafts personalized re-engagement sequences for your approval, and surfaces the top 3 renewal opportunities 45 days before expiry. You spend 20 minutes reviewing and approving. The agents do the rest.

### Give your support Persona a real name
Your public Support and Booking Portals can show a configured representative's name and avatar
instead of the generic "Support" label -- ask in chat ("create a support representative for
[venture]") or configure it directly in **Persona Management**. Customers get a consistent,
named point of contact; nothing about what the AI is allowed to do changes.

### Sell your own subscriptions -- Venture Commerce
If your venture is itself a subscription product, you can now define its products and prices and
sell real recurring subscriptions to your own customers, using your venture's own connected
Stripe or PayPal account -- entirely separate from your ErezAgent platform subscription. Real
cancellation, refunds through a governed approval, tax by your customer's country, and automatic
dispute tracking, the same real machinery your platform runs on. Manage it from
**Venture Commerce** (Revenue & CRM group), with Products, Subscriptions, Refunds, Usage and Billing tabs for the
selected venture (also available over `/api/venture-commerce/...`). Cancelling or refunding stays
under your control; refunds go through an approval. If you'd rather
not process payments through ErezAgent, choose **Metering** as the venture's billing method (or set a
product to metering only): subscriptions are created without a checkout, ErezAgent closes each billing
period and drafts the usage statement and invoice draft (never finalized automatically), and you record
the payment when it arrives. Statements and invoice drafts are not tax invoices, so keep issuing your legal
invoices from your own accounting system; signed webhooks and exports (Revenue Center -> Billing ->
Integrations) can feed it. Rapyd and Pelecard are not available for venture subscriptions.

### Generate UI components and research design patterns
Three tools are pre-registered and ready to use from **Command > Capability Engine > Design
Intelligence**: **21st.dev Magic** generates production-ready React + Tailwind CSS components
from a text description (e.g. "a KPI summary bar with 4 metric tiles, dark background, cyan
accent") -- requires `TWENTY_FIRST_API_KEY` in `.env`. **Exa AI Search** finds design references
and competitive UI examples ranked by meaning, not keywords -- requires `EXA_API_KEY`. **Design
Review** captures a real screenshot and Lighthouse audit of any URL and returns specific UX
feedback -- needs the Playwright sidecar (`docker compose --profile mcp up -d playwright-mcp`),
no API key required. All three (plus 3 more pre-seeded tools) go through the same governed
8-stage lifecycle every external AI capability uses before it can run live agent tasks
(`discovery -> evaluation -> recommendation -> approval -> acquisition -> validation ->
knowledge_capture -> continuous_review`), so you always know what's active and what it costs.

### Collect onboarding documents from new customers -- CRM Workspace + Document Collection
If onboarding a new customer needs paperwork (a signed order form, compliance/KYC documents),
CRM Workspace gives every customer one unified view (deals, projects, support history, activity),
and Document Collection turns that into a real checklist: create it from a template, request the
missing items by email or WhatsApp, and let the customer reply or upload directly through their
own portal. AI proposes which item a received file satisfies with a visible confidence score --
anything uncertain lands in a review queue rather than being auto-accepted.

### Know which customers need attention today -- Customer Operating Intelligence (v4.79.0)
CRM Workspace's **Needs Attention** section surfaces real findings per customer (churn risk, a
renewal coming up, a stalled deal, an overdue document, an SLA breach) with a confidence label and,
where a direct action exists, a one-click **Execute**. The portfolio-wide **Needs Attention** tab
answers "which of my customers need a look today" across your whole book, filterable by venture and
severity. Ask Executive Office by voice or chat -- "which renewals are coming up," "what does Acme
Corp need from us" -- and get a governed, versioned **AI Brief** for any customer before a call.

## ErezAgent for Law Firms and Professional Services

**Core value**: Client matter tracking, deadline management, knowledge retrieval, and document drafting -- all approval-gated before any client interaction.

### Setup for Professional Services
0. Complete **Company Foundation** -- set your firm's constitution (practice areas as non-negotiables, client-first values) and active mission (revenue or headcount goal)
1. Connect **Google Workspace** (Gmail + Drive + Calendar)
2. Configure **Obsidian vault** for knowledge management (`OBSIDIAN_VAULT_PATH`)
3. Create client matters as Ventures in the Ventures module
4. Set approval policy: all client-facing actions require manual approval

### What runs automatically
- **Deadline detection**: Mission Control parses matter timelines and surfaces upcoming deadlines in Attention Feed
- **Document intelligence**: Business DNA accumulates patterns from case history
- **Knowledge retrieval**: Executive Chat can search your Obsidian vault for relevant precedents, notes, and templates

### Security and compliance
- Client data is stored on your own infrastructure. Document text is sent to your configured AI provider only as described in Settings > Data & Privacy (identifiers masked by default, or local models only)
- Audit Log records every action with timestamp, reason, and outcome
- Data retention is configurable (events 90 days and audit logs 730 days by default); the daily
cleanup only runs after a recent completed backup. See `docs/31_DATA_POLICY.md`
- GDPR-compliant: client data deletion workflows via the policy engine

### Key use cases
- Draft client email -> Agent drafts -> you review -> you approve -> sent
- Research matter history -> Executive Chat: "Show me all notes about the Acme case"
- Deadline alerts -> Attention Feed surfaces "Acme filing due in 7 days" with priority HIGH
- Draft or review a contract for a client engagement -> "Legal, draft a mutual NDA" or "Legal,
review this vendor agreement" -- 7 jurisdiction-general contract skills cover NDAs, SaaS
agreements/terms, vendor/reseller review, IP-assignment review, trademark clearance, and
open-source license compliance, on top of the existing Israel-specific pack
- Review an uploaded contract -> Contract Intelligence page -> **AI Review** -> pick the relevant
review and get the result directly on the page
- Client intake document collection (v4.78.0) -> create a checklist per client matter (ID, signed
engagement letter, supporting evidence) -> CRM Workspace -> **Document Collection** -> request by
email or WhatsApp -> the client replies with the file or uploads it through their own portal ->
AI proposes which requirement it satisfies -> you review and accept. Every send is approval-gated
like everything else; a received file never counts as accepted until you say so.
- Get an engagement letter or NDA signed (v4.82.0) -> track the matter as a Business Record with a
file field for the drafted document and a signature field -> attach the draft, then **Request
signature** -> approve the request -> the client receives a real DocuSign envelope, and the
record's status updates automatically as they sign or decline. Ask AI to pull the client's name
and matter details from a signed-and-returned document into the record's other fields -- you
review and accept each suggested value, nothing is applied automatically.
- Skip the setup entirely (v4.83.0) -> Business Records -> **Browse templates** -> install
**Client / Matter Intake** or **Contract Review** -- both pre-built with real fields (client
name, practice area, conflict check, signature) and a real stage workflow, ready to use
immediately. Need something these don't cover? **Ask AI to build a type** and describe your own
process -- it drafts a complete type for you to review and approve before it's created.
- Bring on a paralegal or associate for one matter's venture only (v4.84.0) -> that venture's own
**Staff** panel -> invite by email. They log in and work that matter's records, documents, and
tasks without seeing any other client's venture, and without needing a full firm-wide account.
- Give that paralegal one place to work (v4.85.0) -> **My Work** lists their open tasks and
approvals across that matter's venture; opening a matter record shows its documents, tasks,
appointments, and signature status together on one page instead of hunting across pages. Let
the client themselves check on their own matter -> open that record type's **Customer Portal** panel and
the client sees and acts on their own record only (upload a document, e-sign, book a call) at
a link scoped to just that one matter.
- Review what a client uploaded (v4.86.0-v4.87.0) -> **Document Review** -> open the submission and
click **View file** to read the original; business-record file fields have a **Download** button.
Access is limited to your own tenant and the matter's venture, and every download is logged.
- Set up the firm from its own paperwork (v4.88.0) -> **Build My Business** -> upload your intake
forms, engagement letters, fee schedules and process notes (or describe how a matter runs) ->
review the proposed model, where each piece is marked as verified from your documents, inferred,
an assumption or missing -> approve it -> ErezAgent configures the matter record type with its
stages, the document checklist, reminder rules, a client portal page and the paralegal role. You
see the impact before anything changes and one approval covers the whole build. Afterwards say
"clients who are self-employed now need two extra documents" in Executive Office and the change
is prepared for your review. AI reading of documents is off until you grant consent in Settings
  > Data & Privacy; the default mode masks identifiers such as Israeli ID numbers, IBANs and card numbers before
anything reaches an AI provider, and a local-only mode keeps it on your own models.
- Require a document only when it applies (v4.88.0) -> in a checklist template, tick **Only when a
condition holds** on the item (for example, a second ID only for a given client type), and the
checklist updates itself as the matter changes.

## ErezAgent for Independent Consultants and Fractional Executives

**Core value**: Client management, proposal generation, billing tracking, and strategic positioning -- with an AI team you can actually afford.

### Setup for Consultants
0. Complete **Company Foundation** -- your identity as a consultant (specialization, client promise), values (responsiveness, expertise, confidentiality), and active mission (revenue target or clients under management)
1. Configure Executive Office with your location and priorities
2. Create client ventures in the Ventures module
3. Connect Telegram for approval notifications
4. Enable the Growth department for pipeline management

### What runs automatically
- **Morning**: Executive briefing with industry news relevant to your client portfolio
- **Weekly**: Company Health score across all active engagements
- **On opportunity signal**: Growth agent surfaces relevant leads and drafts outreach for your approval
- **Monthly**: Finance agent generates income summary and flags unpaid invoices

### Delivering a client solution
When a client sends their requirements, attach the document in Executive Office and choose **Start
Customer Solution**. Approve the requirements you accept, then ErezAgent sorts each one by what it takes
to deliver:

| Class | Meaning | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| **A** | Already supported, or a matter of configuration | Build My Business |
| **B** | A template covers it | Build My Business, starting from the template |
| **C** | A small extension of an existing capability | Blueprint and build |
| **D** | New development, an outside integration or a specialist | Blueprint and build |

Open the mission's **Business Twin** tab and choose **Propose a Business Twin**. The proposal is built from
your approved requirements and opens in Build My Business, where it gets the same preview, impact analysis,
single approval and rollback as any other model. If every approved requirement is A or B, the delivery is
configuration only, so no standalone application is generated and the Blueprint tab points you to the Business
Twin instead. If some requirements are C or D, the blueprint covers only those. Unclassified requirements keep
the standard blueprint path.

When a configuration works for one client, promote it to a **Solution Template** (Build My Business >
Templates): names, contacts, documents, credentials, customers and staff are removed automatically and you
acknowledge the result before publishing. Install it into the next client's venture as a draft that still
goes through preview and approval. Templates stay inside your own tenant, so they are reusable across the
ventures you run for clients there.

### The solo operator advantage
As a solo operator, you have zero overhead for your AI team. Agents run in the background, cost fractions of a cent per task, and escalate only what needs you. A week of agent activity might cost $2--15 in API calls while delivering 10+ hours of research, drafting, and analysis.

Check your real costs at any time: **Token & ROI** shows every dollar spent and what mission it served.

## ErezAgent for Technical Co-founders and CTOs

**Core value**: Engineering velocity measurement, security posture management, technical debt prioritization, and architectural decision support.

### Setup for Engineering Leadership
0. Complete **Company Foundation** -- set your engineering org's identity, values (code quality, security posture, reliability), and active mission (shipping cadence or reliability target)
1. Connect **GitHub** for repository intelligence
2. Configure `bandit` and `pip-audit` in CI (already wired in `.github/workflows/ci.yml`)
3. Enable Engineering Dept and Security Center
4. Configure approval policies for deployment operations

### What runs automatically
- **On PR**: Repository intelligence sensor analyzes code quality signals
- **Daily**: Security findings aggregated from all configured scanners
- **Weekly**: Engineering velocity report (commit frequency, issue cycle time, test coverage trends)
- **On CVE**: Critical/high CVEs surface immediately in Attention Feed with severity, affected packages, and draft remediation plan

### Key agents
| Agent | Role |
|---|---|
| Engineering Agent | Velocity, code quality, architecture review |
| Security Agent | CVE scanning, policy enforcement |
| DevOps Agent | Deployment tracking, infrastructure health |
| Resource Manager | AI capability routing optimization |

### Architecture decision support
Ask the Executive Chat: "What are the tradeoffs between adding pgvector search vs. a dedicated vector DB for our use case?" -- the agent has context about your current tech stack from Business DNA and can give an informed, system-aware recommendation.

### Govern which AI tools your team can use
Every external tool an agent can call -- an MCP server, a third-party API, a CLI utility -- goes
through a governed 8-stage lifecycle (`discovery -> evaluation -> recommendation -> approval ->
acquisition -> validation -> knowledge_capture -> continuous_review`) before it can handle a live
task. A tool only ever runs live work once it reaches `continuous_review` with `is_active =
true`. Register a new one from **Command > Capability Engine > Add Capability**: name, category,
monthly cost, and the environment variable holding its API key -- the key itself is never stored
in the database, only its variable name. You get a running view of what's active, what's
degraded, and what each tool costs per month for chargeback.

### Let underperforming departments propose their own fixes
Navigate to **Decisions & History > Dept Evolution**. Each of your 7 pre-seeded department
protocols (Marketing, Sales, Development, Security, Finance, Customer Success, Operations)
tracks 3-5 key metrics; after 3 consecutive misses against target (configurable per department --
lower it for urgent ones, e.g. Security: 1 miss = gap), a capability gap is created automatically
with tool candidates ranked by how quickly they can be deployed. For Development specifically,
this watches `deployment_frequency`, `bug_escape_rate`, and `pr_review_time`. Review and approve a
gap from the **Gaps** tab, then walk the approved tool through the acquisition lifecycle above.
After 90 days, the **ROI tab** reports whether the metric actually improved (>=20% = the
capability worked; 5-19% = still monitoring; <5% = consider a different tool), and feeds a
lesson summary into the Executive Board's institutional memory.

## ErezAgent for Investment Tracking

**Core value**: Portfolio intelligence, risk assessment via Board Deliberation, KPI snapshot tracking, and CFO-grade analysis.

### Setup for Investment Tracking

1. Go to **Objective Center** (`/objectives`) -> **Create** tab
2. In the **Outcome** step, describe your investment goal: "I want to grow my crypto portfolio from $5,000 to $12,000 in 12 months"
3. Click **Run Board Deliberation** -- the CFO will assess the probability of your target, flag unrealistic expectations, and produce a risk-adjusted analysis
4. Review the **governance_confidence** score -- if it is below 50, the board considers the goal risky without conditions
5. Accept (or adjust your target based on the analysis) and set metrics

### What the board checks for investment objectives

The CFO executive is configured with `cfo_focus: risk_adjusted_return` for investment objectives. Expect:
- Probability of target assessment (e.g. "400% ROI in 60 days has ~8% success probability")
- Position sizing recommendations
- Stop-loss conditions in falsifiable assumptions
- Correlation risk across positions

### Tracking portfolio health

- Click **[+ Snapshot]** on the objective card weekly to record current portfolio value
- The Metric History tab shows value over time vs. your target line
- Run **[AI Review]** monthly for a new executive assessment based on current metrics

### Investment objective KPIs

Pre-populated defaults for `investment` type:
| KPI | Default target | Direction |
|-----|---------------|-----------|
| Portfolio value (USD) | $50,000 | Maximize |
| ROI (%) | 40% | Maximize |
| Active positions | 5 | Reach |

### If you're operating a business, not just tracking a portfolio
Finance and Security department protocols watch `cash_runway_months`, `burn_rate_usd`, and
`open_critical_findings` continuously, and raise a governed capability gap automatically the
moment a threshold is breached -- no manual dashboard check required. Configure thresholds per
department at **Decisions & History > Dept Evolution**.

---

## ErezAgent for Personal Goals

**Core value**: Structured commitment to personal objectives with the same governance quality as business decisions -- falsifiable assumptions, health tracking, board accountability.

### Why run Board Deliberation on personal goals?

The board applies relevant lenses even for personal objectives:
- **CMO** (reframed as habit coach): Is the acquisition / habit formation plan realistic? Do you have a trigger, routine, and reward defined?
- **CFO** (reframed as budget guardian): Are you allocating appropriate time and money? Is the cost defensible?
- **COO**: Do you have operational capacity alongside your other commitments?
- **CTO**: Does this require tools or systems you don't currently have?

### Personal goal objective types

| Goal | Recommended type |
|------|----------------|
| Fitness / weight / running | `personal_goal` |
| Language learning | `personal_goal` |
| Reading list | `personal_goal` |
| Side project / hobby | `personal_goal` or `research` |
| Business skill development | `knowledge_management` |

### Pre-populated KPIs for `personal_goal`

| KPI | Default | Direction |
|-----|---------|-----------|
| Progress (%) | 100% | Reach |
| Milestones hit | 5 | Maximize |
| Streak (days) | 30 | Maximize |

Use **[+ Snapshot]** to record your current progress. The Metric History chart shows streak and milestone trends over time.
